Love Begins In The Kitchen
The log cabin home of Judy and Don Greslin is nestled comfortably into the wooded hills south of Sturgis, a matching beauty to the surroundings. The same rustic charm was captured within the home, with one notable distraction.
“We had laminate countertops in our kitchen and they were getting very much outdated, and we had decided that we when the time came to do an upgrade we were going to go to a stone surface,” Judy said. “And while we weren’t sure when, I happened to see Moda Stone at one of the home shows.”
A visit to one of Moda Stone’s two locations — Rapid City (1116 JacksonBlvd.) and Spearfish (3025 FirstAve., Suite 6)—followed, an experience made pleasant by the excellent service.
“Jason [Roy] was very helpful, nice to work with, and very conscientious in seeing that we got what exactly what we wanted,” Judy said, “We had looked at several different companies, though the decision to go with Moda Stone was easy since they were so helpful and the prices were very competitive.”
Having decided upon granite as best matching the interior of their home, Judy wanted to make sure that the two stone slabs required to cover the counter top and built-in desk area in her kitchen would mesh well together and closely reflect the richness of the surroundings.
“We looked at both granite and quartz but I like granite because of the different color variations. However, all stone slabs are different, and we wanted something close to the sample we had seen as possible,” Judy said. “Jason was pretty confident that he would be able to do that and he did.”
Added comfort came with Moda Stone’s assurance that the granite stone delivered and installed in her kitchen would be exactly what Judy had envisioned.
“When the slabs come in, you get to look at them since they can be different than in the pictures. Then once you do decide what you want, when they get the slabs in you can go and look at them,” Judy explained. “And if you don’t like them, they will not make you take them.”
Approximately five weeks after the Greslins’ initial visit to Moda-Stone’s facility, the new countertops were installed without a hitch.
“Jason came out and helped us with the selection process and they came out and did a template, and the man was nice and helpful,” Judy said. “The two men who came out and installed the countertops were excellent. They were
personable and also told you what they needed to do and asked whether that would be okay. They did a super job, and then cleaned up after themselves. The whole process worked out very well.”
Greslin couldn’t be happier with the collaborative effort with Moda Stone in making her kitchen exactly as she had envisioned it could be.
